THIRTY-TWO frontline staff and volunteers from 27 local churches in Markham, Morobe, have done a week’s training to deliver Biblical truths. The training was commissioned by Church of the Foursquare in partnership with Awana Truth Seekers Kids’ Ministry to roll out child discipleship programmes in Markham district. The up-skilling of the members of the church involved men and women from March 11-15.
According to Awana coordinator of Markham district and Morobe’s Francis Kieng, the training would equip participants to be approved workmen and women who would be ready to deliver the Biblical truths to their local churches. The training took place in Sama Foursquare Church at Zimama village.
“The participants learnt basic management, classroom management, lesson planning, discipline, Christian leadership, child protection policies & code of behaviour, council time, team time, game time and many more,” Kieng said. He said many participants after training were tested and had uplifted their skills and knowledge.
“They believe they will deliver in a different dimension this year going forward despite different experiences,” he said.
“Markham district will be a model district to other parts of the country and I commend each of the participants who volunteered.”
Kieng told the participants that there would be challenges but encouraged them to be courageous for God.
