Fr Czuba: Respect God, others

Faith

HUMAN beings are bound to make mistakes, but God works in mysterious ways to change people’s lives to be better persons in their families and communities.
Father Jan Czuba said this during a recent Holy Eucharist.
He emphasised the Gospel of Luke 15: 1-11 and said: “The Gospel reading teaches us that God has His own criteria for selecting people to be His disciples to be ministers and prophets in our families, communities and country.”
“Our sinfulness will not prevent God from coming into our lives and our weak human nature will not prevent God from using us here on earth to fully participate in the mission Jesus started 2,000 years ago.”
Czuba said God gave sinners a new opportunity to trust and gave each one a mission that was unique from each other to continue.
“Each one of us has a mission that no one can fulfill,” he said.
“This is our mission as Christians; we have to respect God in any person we meet in our lives, it doesn’t matter if these people are our friends, family members and even people we don’t like.
“He wants us to say no to sin and bad habits and to remain ready to speak and act through Him in our different life circumstances as.”
Czuba said the Gospel taught people to respect God.
“Many times, people go to church and chat with friends but forget to pray and acknowledge God’s presence,” he said.
He encouraged people to respect God’s Word.
Fr Czuba said to respect God, one had to respect others.
He gave an example of Mother Theresa, who loved God by showing love to the poor and the dying people.
Czuba said people should accept challenges, learn to love God, have compassion, practise justice towards Him and be kind to Him.
“In that way, it would be easy to forgive and reconcile with others,” he said.
“Use your talents to serve others.”
“Your response to God’s call should be like Prophet Isaiah’s: ‘Lord here I am, send me, I’m willing to do it, I will play my part in my family and I will speak to my neighbour and everyone around me’.”
