Free land, MP tells people

KIKORI MP Soroi Eoe says people must free their land for development.
Eoe told the district awareness programme last week in Baimuru and Ihu that the Ihu Special Economic Zone (ISEZ) was the future.
“The ISEZ would create enormous employment opportunities as well as economic activities and infrastructure development enabling service delivery in the Ihu area,” he said. “For the district to experience major development, landowners have to give land freely, so work could progress rapidly.”
Data shows that the district will have five major resource development projects in the next five years, including the Papua LNG project.
The district has 80 per cent of the discovered underdeveloped proven gas reserves in PNG.
It also has three timber permits, the Kumul Marine oil export terminal.
