FRIENDS will look to rub more salt into 21 Makers’ wounds when both sides meet in the Kimbe Cricket Association’s T20 competition at the Kimbe Secondary School Oval tomorrow.
Led by experienced hands Elizah Waloloki and Emmanuel Wende, 21 Makers are coming off a loss last time out and will want to bounce back with a win.
“Friends will be led by experienced players Donnely Wangipari and Elizah Mapango. They will also have brothers Christopher and Nathan Henry,” association secretary Andrew Henry told The National.
“This will be the game to watch.”
He said round-one washout matches would be played with the second lot of matches this weekend.
“Hope the weather will be kind so matches can go ahead this weekend,” Henry said.
He said the opening round-two match would see Friends face Gigo Bay in the women’s division tomorrow.
“Friends will count on sisters Helen and Patricia Henry to carry their hopes against a youthful Gigo Bay side led by Ruthy Joe,” Henry said.
“Game two will see experienced brothers Romley and Abi Kauyola take the lead in Bakery Bar’s men’s match against Friends, who will have Christopher and Nathan Henry, Donnelly Wangipari and Elizah Mapango.
“The two sides have players who have represented West New Britain in the sport, so it will be a tough game.”
