THE Tawii Primary School in the Tetidu local level government of Manus will have a new four-in-one double classroom to cater for its increasing student numbers.
Tawii village is in one of the least developed areas in the province.
The building will be funded by the National Gaming Control Board and supported by the Manus development authority chaired by MP Job Pomat.
During the school’s graduation ceremony, board chief executive officer Imelda Agon said education required a universal approach from all participants.
“I urge all students to take your education seriously and guard it with a humble heart, good character and right attitude,” she said.
Agon told the graduating students that they had completed a chapter in their education journey and still had a long way to go.
“Always remember that there are technical and vocational education training programmes available if you are not selected to continue your secondary level,” she said.
“Never give up.
“The ball is in your court to decide what you want to achieve in your life, or who you want to be in life.”
Agon encouraged students to avoid peer pressure, courting and other social engagements that had negative effects on education.
She said the gaming board believed that education was the pinnacle of success in any country and through it, PNG would become an informed society, involved in the economy and contributing to development.
