SIX suspects allegedly held up a man and robbed him of K25,000 worth of properties at Wirui in Wewak, East Sepik, police commander Supt Albert Beli says.
He said one of the suspects was armed with a homemade gun, while the others had knives and softball bats when they held up and robbed the man and his wife at their house at about 9pm last Thursday night.
“The suspects were all in masks and escaped into the nearby settlement with all the valuables,” he said.
“The man reported the matter to the police and we are now investigation.”
Supt Beli said the rise in criminal activities in the province was due to the growth of settlements.
“These settlements are breeding grounds for criminals,” he said.
