Gold price falls after high sessions

NEW YORK: The price of gold has retreated from the three-week high set in the previous session, after a rise in the US dollar on the back of strong economic data.
US private employers added 179,000 jobs in July, above economists’ expectations, a report by a payrolls processor showed.
Spot gold fell 0.4 per cent to US$1,357.96 (K4228.55) an ounce by 3.10 pm EDT (0510 Thursday AEST). It had touched US$1367.33 (K4257.72) per ounce, its highest since July 11, on Tuesday.
The most active US gold futures, for December, delivery settled down 0.6 per cent at US$1,364.70 (K 4249.54) an ounce. – AAP
