Goroka Show and culture

THE recent 62nd Goroka Show may seem like a success to some people not versed in our different cultures and traditions.
Many singsing groups which took part in the events were not in their right cultural costumes. Some wore costumes from another culture and sang songs that were not from their tribes.
It is a mockery of the famous Goroka Show.
This event is meant to promote the genuine cultures and traditions of Papua New Guinea and not show something invented from the street for personal gain.
The Goroka Show body has to pre-check cultural groups before they register.
