Government appointments

Letters

I wish to comment on the appointment of the heads of the Legislature, National Executive Council, Judiciary, and the Ombudsman Commission.
These institutions are constitutionally independent, however, when it comes to appointments, the Prime Minister is the chairman in the appointment committee for the Chief Justice and Ombudsman Commission. Therefore, I call for all learned Papua New Guineans to propose a new legislation when the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission is carrying out a workshop and consultation nationwide.
