FINANCE Minister James Marape says the department plans to have all government agencies connected to the Integrated Financial Management Systems (IFMS) over the next two years.
IFMS replaces the PNG Government Accounting System (PGAS) .
“At Finance, we want to have real-time oversight on Government expenditures because that will enable us to easily manage expenditures of public funds by districts, provincial governments and state agencies and departments,” Marape said
He said the department would get real-time, accurate updates on any transactions using public funds.
“This will enhance greater oversight and accountability of public funds.”
