Government heading in right direction

Letters

PAPUA New Guineans woke up in the morning of Nov 13, not knowing what was to unfold in Parliament that day.
Our politicians lived up to their reputation and, of course, the name “land of the unexpected”.
It is refreshing that, after 45 years of independence, prime ministers come and go but here’s a prime minister knowing the consequences of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (Icac) Bill, had it passed.
That is something others (ex-PM) couldn’t do due to such pressure as seen on Nov 13.
The writing is on the wall, you don’t need to be told.
What happened on the Parliament the next day after the Icac Bill was passed, was a move by disgruntled leaders who did not vote with their conscience, but due to public pressure exerted on them. What followed was history, hence the current impasse.
My point is, what happened to the chaff and the wheat is like sheep team and goat team.
So citizens, I urge you to use King Solomon’s method in James 1. 5 to make correct analysis on the political situation we have now.
Remember, PNG is rated as one of the most corrupt country in the world.
I will stick around with the current PM, maybe he would improve our rating.

Natopo Mai,
Popondetta
