THE Government is taking steps to ensure all public bodies deliver a range of digital services to its citizens and businesses, Information and Communication Technology Minister Timothy Masiu says.
He said this yesterday following the notice to commence tenders for the Government leased cloud infrastructure, which provides the basis for Government to streamline and coordinate the implementation of a digital government.
He said this was consistent with the purpose set out in the Digital Government Act of 2022.
“The draft Digital Government Plan 2023-2027 sets the path for all public bodies to deliver a range of digital services to its citizens and businesses, the government leased cloud infrastructure as well as the establishment and management of central electronic data repository, provided under Section 28 of the Digital Government Act, are vital enablers for successful delivery,” he said.
“The Ministry for ICT is responsible for facilitating the whole of government implementation of the Digital Government Act.” The Act came into force on Aug 8, 2022.
