Governor graduates with Bachelor of Public Admin

MANUS Governor Charlie Benjamin was among 884 graduates from Divine Word University’s 38th ceremony at the Madang Campus on Sunday.
Benjamin was among many professionals who graduated in the same programme and other programmes after studying through the popular flexible learning mode of study designed for working professionals.
Benjamin graduated with a Bachelor of Public Administration after studying as a self-sponsored student.
The university introduced the Bachelor of Public Administration along with the Master of Public Administration in 2013 in response to a call by the Government through the Department of Personnel Management to offer tailor-made programmes for public service.
Graduating in the same programme as the governor were notable figures such as Chief Fire Officer Bill Roo, former Kumuls captain Bal Numapo and district-based public servants such as Michael Ariando, the deputy district administrator for Ialibu-Pangia.
Several other senior professionals graduated in the Masters programme.
Among them were Chief Supt Peter Guinness (Assistant Police Commissioner Northern Command), Nichodemos Mosoro (deputy secretary for Justice and Attorney-General) and Imbi Tagune (general manager external affair at the Mineral Resources Development Company).
