Governor launches uniform

MOROBE Governor Ginson Saonu yesterday launched new uniforms and playschool sets for the Emmanuel Elementary School, the first United Church school in the province,
The event was witnessed by church members, families of students, stakeholders and Lae MP John Rosso.
The Morobe government and Lae district administration through Saonu and Rosso committed K10,000 each to assist the school which would be part of the Morobe education reform programme.
Saonu said the province wanted churches and non-government organisations in their education reforms. He commended the United Church for inviting him to its school and talk about his education reform.
Saonu said the province’s 3-6-6 system was being implemented by the Education Department.
Rosso, who is the Minister for Lands and Physical Planning, acknowledged Saonu’s education reform saying he would work with the Morobe administration and United Church to support it, plus the development of the church’s education initiatives.
