THE Marape-led Government is committed to the on-going support for developing provincial hospitals throughout the country, Treasurer Ian Ling-Stuckey says.
However, he said not everything could be done overnight, adding that improving the health system would take years.
He said the Government was getting on with the business of good governance to take back PNG and ensure no child was left behind.
Ling-Stuckey said the Government would close the financial year this week.
“Carefully managing our cash flows during this period is important,” he said.
“It is important to ensure that there is no over-expenditure and no build up in arrears.”
Ling-Stuckey said it was important to ensure the budget outcome on the expenditure side was aligned with the 2020 Supplementary Budget.
“I wanted to ensure the secretaries of treasury and finance understood the importance of achieving our fiscal consolidation objectives in this time of the global Covid-19 pandemic.”
