FORMER prime minister Sir Mekere Morauta once said that  corruption in our country has become systematic and systemic.
Corruption comes in many forms.
It has invaded all spheres and fabric of our society.
Institutionalised corruption is also growing.
This means that the institutions of state are collaborating and colluding to make right the wrongs.
The people in power at these institutions are using their positions to collude and collaborate to devise schemes and means to make right the wrongs.
For example, the decision by the police and the defence force commanders not to enforce lawful orders of the court amount to institutional corruption.
The mind is as destructive as the laws are amended to get what you want, simply playing up with the letters of the law to right the wrong.
This is a bad destructive mindset and bad leadership.
Good leadership starts at home.
Good leadership includes respect for others as you would want others to respect you.
Earn respect – do not demand it.
Good leadership is about respecting the clan laws, the country’s Constitution and also the law of nature.
All the above leadership attributes are falling apart in our society.
Corrupt mind and leadership are very dangerous.
Systematic and systemic corruption that has become embedded in our culture is serious culmination of corrupt mind and corrupt leadership
When the corrupt mind and corrupt leadership rules, corruption grows like bush fire.
I urge the new government to seriously take ownership, admit to the fact of the growing corruption and find ways and means to fix it.
