Govt needs team to review projects

 THE Government’s lack of review of major projects has resulted in the failure of these projects including the National Identification system, Northern Governor Gary Juffa says.

Responding to questions about the NID project, he said the Government had failed to review all major projects.

“The Government needs to have a review team that periodically reviews all major projects like the National Identification Project,” Juffa said. 

“Every three months the review team should evaluate the projects. The review team should pay a visit to all the major projects. 

“The NID project is not managed well, I hear that workers haven’t been paid for almost six months and no one can register. 

“I’ve seen one guy in my street with three ID cards, the person with same face under three different names. That’s scary.

“If they are going to use the NID system for the elections, you can just imagine what’s going to happen.”
