THE Education Department still owes the Morobe provincial government more than K700,000 in tuition fee free (TFF) funding.
Provincial administrator Bart Ipambonj said his government had yet to receive K681,031.21 for 2018 and K33,364.76 for this year – totalling K714, 395.97.
Ipambonj along with provincial TFF committee chairman and deputy administrator for social services Robin Bazinuc confirmed that the department had paid K14,473,288.04 in TFF grants.
From the TFF total grants, a sum of K13,765,341.52 was credited to respective schools from the Morobe provincial TFF trust account.
While total of K741,311.28 was yet to be paid to schools by the Education Department and provincial administration.
Ipambonj said Morobe had a total of 966 schools – 591 elementary schools, 345 primary schools, 12 high schools, 10 secondary schools, a national high school and seven vocational schools.
