Govt working strategically

Letters

ALL educated Papua New Guineans in politics know that the Marape Government inherited a big debt created by former governments.
For people such as David Lepi to imply that the Marape Government lacks plans and strategic direction and is running the country into more debts is a shallow remark.
Plans and strategies are effective based on the situation at hand.
PNG is in a big debt.
That is the situation at hand.
Hence, most of the recent decisions taken by the Government placed PNG’s interest first.
One has to look at the underlying intentions, be it in the land reform, Oil and Gas Act or the Mining Act.
There is a broad range of institutional re-organisation taking place.
These changes are part and partial of PMJM’s strategic plan.
In a nutshell, to empower this country to a more prosperous future.
To achieve this, institutional changes need to take place.
That is a strategic plan given the situation at hand.
Marape has seen and understood how the entire government system operates including resource laws etc.
The decisions taken therefore is visionary and intellectually tactful.
Yes, there may be grey areas one might argue but overall real hard decision are been taken by visionary leaders such as PMJM to emancipate the people of this country.
The Porgera situation is a reactionary accommodation of that strategic plan in motion.
The situation is temporary and will soon revert back to its former status having find the right equilibrium.
PMJM did not have the benefit to run this country for a full term.

  • PMJM has stated all along that he wants to restore confidence of the rest of PNG but first he had to deal with the outstanding left by the previous government. No one government of the day has and will ignore that fact. It is going to be huge task for him. Congratulation PMJM continue to do what you are doing best and you shall earn the respect of all people of PNG. It a trial and era, soon you’ll come out of it and be on your way to doing good. Yu trupla pikinini blong PNG. PNG is behind you.

  • First and foremost, one must bear in mind that PMJM is a Nationalist. He has a heart for this country. Just give him ample time and let him prove it. Shallow minded people with nothing good to contribute should reserve their comments for the right time.

  • Is PMMJ nationalistic agendas influenced by Waigani or Canberra? That is the underlining factor. No matter how patriotic his policies may seem, they safeguard foreign interests and undermine national aspirations.
