Gr 11s drink homebrew

FIVE Grade 11 students attending Tusbab Secondary School in Madang have been charged with drinking homebrew.
Police said the students had skipped classes and were drinking homebrew when they were apprehended.
Police confiscated a 20-litre bucket of homebrew referred to by locals as “white soup”.
Police said the students were found drinking at the back of the Divine Word University’s Paramed campus. Nearby residents noticed them after they started shouting abusive words.
The boys were aged between 16 and 21. Four were from East Sepik and one from Madang.
They were all charged with drinking homebrew and were bailed for K1,000 each.
One of them asked police to let them go but they were told they had to ask the magistrate in court today.
Meanwhile, Usino-Bundi MP Anton Yagama and Madang businessman Peter Yama will appear in the National Court in Madang today on contempt charges brought against them by court registrar Ian Augerea.
Both men were accused of breaching an order issued by Judge David Cannings on July 29, that they refrain from causing or inciting violence while court proceedings over the Usino Bundi election petition case was going on.
Yama, the petitioner, was one of the candidates for the Usino-Bundi seat that Yagama won during the 2012 general election.
It is alleged that supporters of both men had confronted each other outside the courthouse after Cannings had issued the order.
