A 63-YEAR-OLD grandmother from Enga thought she was dreaming when she received the keys to a new Toyota 10-seater Landcruiser which she won in Digicel’s “5-doors Christmas” promotion.
Digicel commercial director, Lorna McPherson, presented the vehicle to Kathy Tole yesterday morning in Mt Hagen.
Mrs Tole was informed of her win early last month through an on-air presentation on a local radio station but thought it was a joke.
Later, she told her son Ben who confirmed the good news with Digicel.
“As a housewife, it was hard to believe that I had won the prize out of a million other subscribers,” she said.
Mrs Tole said Digicel showed that they were to help with communication as well as the ordinary people, and thanked the Lord for “the reward”.
Asked what she was planning to do with the car, she said: “We are thinking of exchanging the car for a Toyota 25-seater Coaster bus to run a PMV service or put it up for hire because as ordinary citizens, the running cost of the vehicle is high.”
