PUMA Energy and PDA Trucking have come to the aid of two fire engines and an administration vehicle belonging to Lae Fire Services that have been sitting idle without fuel for two weeks.
Puma Energy and PDA Trucking, an Enga-based company, have both pledged to supply 200 litres of fuel each.
Lae Fire Service commander Bal Kenna said fire safety, emergency and preparedness was a shared role and assistance from the companies was crucial.
Kenna thanked Puma Energy and PDA Trucking for their support to help protect life and property.
Kenna said Lae Fire Service and Puma Energy have enjoyed 13 years of partnership in fire safety, emergency and preparedness training.
“Without fuel for the trucks, firemen are unable to attend to emergencies,” he said.
“Fire trucks need fuel for their engines as well as the motor to power up the water hose.”
