Group carries out awareness on fighting corruption in SHP

THE Papua New Guinea Millennium Good Governance Organisation says corruption is a “disease,” and called on citizens to eradicate it.
MGGO Southern Highlands’ branch president Victor Kongop made this call while announcing an awareness campaign to be carried out in the Southern Highlands during the Christmas season.
Kongop said it was about time everyone took ownership in addressing the issue with workable concepts.
His group intended to impart basic understanding of what corruption was and how it could be fought.
The awareness campaign planned for Southern Highlands would cover different zones in the province, from Dec 10-25.
The event will take place at the following dates and places.
l    Dec 10-15: Central SHP (Mendi-Karinj, Nipa-Kutubu);
l    Dec 16-20: Eastern end (Ialibu-Pangia and Kagua-Erave); and
l    Dec 21-25: Western end (newly-created Hela).
Kongop called an all local leaders of the various districts and communities in Southern Highlands to be prepared for the event.
