GULF Investment Trust Fund (GITF) is continuing its relationship with Papua New Guinea Media Pool competition pacesetters Poi Nangu this season.
Poi Nangu manager Chris Haro said their partnership with Gulf government entities like GITF and Gulf Economic Development Authority (Geda) was supported by Governor Chris Haiveta as club patron.
Haro thanked GITF general manager Vincent Ivosa for backing the club again, adding that their new uniforms — worth more than K4,000 — would boost their confidence.
Haro also commended minor sponsors Wally Hiambon, of White Wings Ltd, and Ephraim and Lillian Kara, of Video Worx Ltd, for their support during the weekly games.
He said GITF and Geda were supporting sports to promote the companies for the benefit of the province.
“This is one way of promoting the two companies and gulf people should be proud of the investment in clubs which carry the provincial banner,” Haro said.
Ivosa challenged the team management and players that as a foundation club of the competition, it was time they focused on winning the title this season.
“We won the Port Moresby Snooker Cup but we should now turn our attention on winning the big one,” he said. PNG Media Pool Association chairman Kepson Pundu said Poi Nangu should be proud to wear their new uniforms.
