GULF is the first provincial government to submit its financial reports for 2013 to the Finance Department for assessment.

They included a backlog of annual reports since 2006.

The presentation was done at the Finance Department at Vulupundi House in NCD with the Gulf provincial treasurer presenting the reports to Finance Secretary, Dr Ken Ngangan.

Gulf treasurer Iko Ari said they had completed reports on their grant accounts since 2010, operating account since 2007 and treasury operating account since 2006

Ngangan said his department was pleased that Gulf did not waste time to complete it as it was a mandatory requirement.

“The Finance Department has always had problems in terms of financial reports not coming in time,” Ngangan said.

“This has always been a long-standing issue between us and the provincial governments.

“Gulf provincial government has not only submitted the previous year’s (2013) reports but outstanding ones that date back to 2006.

“That is an achievement you, the Gulf provincial treasury team, should be proud of.”

Ngangan said the Gulf government could be rest assured that warrants would be issued for the release of its funds for this financial year (2014).
