THE Gulf Provincial Sports Trust announced the appointment of the members to the board of its new semi-professional rugby league team, the Gulf Isous.
The Isous are expected to take part in the 2018 Digicel Cup.
Hailing from Gulf and no stranger to the Gulf rugby league scene is Mai Ori, who was appointed as the chairman of the Isous board.
Joining him are board members Henry Miro, Mae Koime, Graham Lausi, Bosco Kose, Martin Liri, Raymond Aru and Abel Koivi.
The members were appointed on Jan 31.
GPST is the franchise owner of the Isous under a trust arrangement.
Chairman Imbi Tagune welcomed the new board and hoped they made worthwhile contributions to the development of rugby league in the province.
“We are happy that the board is made up of competent people and I am confident that they will provide leadership and guidance for the Isous,” Tagune said.
GPST is committed to developing a talent management system that will allow the development of rugby league from the juniors up to the senior level, allowing Gulf to be able to provide the best talents for competitions like the Intrust Super Cup and NRL selection over time.
