Mix Dogs win Ipatas Cup gold pass

Port Moresby’s Toks Mix Dogs pipped hosts Kwikila Dragons 10-6 in extra time of the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup Central leg final to qualify for gold pass.
The Dragons led 6-4 at halftime and looked to grind out a tight win in wet conditions but conceded a penalty and had the scores locked 6-6 by the end of regulation time.
The Mix Dogs held their nerve and produced the match-winning play which resulted in a gold pass to Goroka.
Earlier the Dogs had to fight off a strong challenge from Tubusereia Sharks winning their semifinal 6-4.
Three minutes into extra time Dogs’ Jack Oi crossed for the game-clinching four-pointer to break the deadlock.
Oi was outstanding, according to league administrator David Silovo.
