Man cleared of fraud charges over property

A COURT has acquitted a man facing fraud-related charges relating to the title of a property due to insufficient evidence.
Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Cosmas Bidar released Fredrick Angoman from Wabag, Enga, who was facing charges of conspiracy, false pretences, and dishonestly applying and fraudulently uttering a document on March 13, 2012.
The court heard that there was no evidence to prove that the house in question belonged to the complainant Linda Angoman.
Bidar said a National Court case relating to the same issue filed by Linda had been dismissed. Bidar said Linda was never the owner of that property which was registered under a different name.
Bidar ordered that bail be refunded.
