PAPUA New Guinea internationals Raymond Gunemba, Nigel Dabinyaba, Ishmael Pole, Ronald Warisan, Jacob Sabua and Langarap Samol have been left out of the national men’s football train-on squads for 2021 representative duties.
The PNG Football Association (PNGFA) yesterday named its two train-on squads, Black and Red, for a best-of-three series before the final side was chosen for international friendlies.
The squads had been assembled by PNGFA technical director Harrison Kamake and his selectors following the end of the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League season.

  • You have got to be kidding!!!!!! Two experienced goal mouth custodians, and a handful of seasoned campaigners left out??? No Tommy Semmy??? Sabua’s combo with Emmanuel Simon proved to be lethal time and time again with Lae City (Toti) FC. Experienced campaigners, Raymond and Nigel, lest we forget, these two, with the 2016 Nation’s Cup Kapuls squad, nearly beat All Whites in the final at the SJGS. Though we may say Raymond’s time is up, but watching all his games, for Lae City and Hekari, he seems to be the go-to-guy, or I would say the most reliable person to create something out of nothing when the team’s under pressure or is fighting for a comeback. And Kapuls need such leadership in the rep level. Nigel would have a fair bit of criticism based on his ailing club performance, but still we need his experience on this level.

    Up to you Mr/Mrs Selectors.

  • Well the Kapuls’ lime light has being these guys, so we have to move on to bring up the talents that always been hidden by these guys. Its’ time!! let them rest and assist the younger players in other roles in Kapuls’ management.

  • PNG Kapuls will never qualify to FIFA world cup ,the game standard in PNG is very low, there are young PNG kids
playing football in Australian State clubs and Australian National Professional League(NPL) clubs who perform very well and why not PNGFA can scout them and push them to play for Kapuls and see the differences.
I’ve seen standard and skills of football in PNG especially PNG National Soccer League is very low.
Even why keeping old players like David Muta,he is wasting time and occupying the space for young upcoming playings,

  • This is all wrong! Where is Tommy Semmy. No, this cannot be true. Raymond Gunemba and Jacob Sabua are two of the best players still going around in this country their colleague David Muta has been given another chance. What is going on selectors?
