DEVELOPMENT on the 21-storey Habourside South building in Port Moresby is progressing well, Steamships managing director Rupert Bray says.
Bray said work on the K250 million investment was expected to be completed next year and would add to a range of developments in downtown Port Moresby.
“We have a number of other significant projects in the plan for next year which we look forward to announcing in due course,” he said.
“Harbourside South, the 21-storey mixed-use development being built between Stanley Esplanade and Champion Parade by Harbourside Development Ltd is progressing well and entering its final phase of construction.
“The building will ‘top-out’ before the end of the year meaning that by the start of 2022 all the work will be happening on the interiors and on the fit-out of the building.
“The windows are in, the cladding going up and the footbridge will soon link Harbourside South with Harbourside East and West.
“The retail floor will open in the second quarter, the three office floors will be available for rental in late June and the club floor and 88 residential apartments will be available in the fourth quarter.”
Bray said the project was progressing well and it was pleasing that work had continued throughout the year without interruptions despite the challenges of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) has posed.
“Harbourside Development Ltd and its managing agent, Pacific Palms Property, are very excited about launching the project next year.
“It will add a high quality, international standard, development to Downtown Moresby.
“With its mix of retail, offices, club, gym, spa and serviced apartments, Harbourside South, will set a new benchmark for property development in Papua New Guinea.”
