Hagen s’ball elects new president

THE Mt Hagen softball association has a new president to lead the competition this year.

He is Jonah Posa, who will be taking over from the previous management.

Posa told The National that he was looking at reviving and expanding the game to the district level.

He said women teams will join in this season.

“This is a plan that my executives have come up with and we are looking at trying it out this weekend.

“My vision is to promote the sport at the rural level because there are many people out there who are keen to join,” Posa said.

He said softball was one of the pioneer sports in the country and he had a vision to develop it in Western Highlands.

Posa said  the association planned to take part in the national titles in Port Moresby this year.

Posa urged interested players to submit their names.
