Hard lessons for Chimbu

Letters

IT was sad to read about the Chimbu team for the PNG Games spending three nights at Nadzab Airport.
Imagine the conditions the athletes had to endure with no proper sanitation for more than 72 hours.
When are sports officials from the Chimbu provincial government going to learn?
This is exactly what happened prior to the 2009 PNG Games in Port Moresby when the entire team travelled to Nadzab with no tickets.
Whoever gave the go ahead for the team to travel overnight on Friday should be sacked.
Apart from the fact that this put enormous pressure on Air Niugini staff, it was risky travelling the Highlands Highway at night.
One bus almost came to grief on the Kassam Pass.
This was a ridiculous decision to travel to the airport before bookings were in place.
Those responsible should be held accountable.
