Hard Rocks claim maiden Wau comp title

HARD Rocks claimed their maiden crown in the men’s premier division of the Wau soccer competition in Morobe after defeating DM Flyers 5-4 on Monday.
In the women’s division grand final, Neighbours edged out 14 Pirates 1-0 to become the queens of Wau football.
Mt Miles beat Nami Equalisers 1-0 in the men’s Under-20 division to claim the title.
The men’s premier’s league grand final between Hard Rocks and DM Flyers was tied at 1-1 at halftime on Sunday.
But due to heavy downpour and flooding of the field the match was called off by Wau based Fifa badge referee Noah Kusunan after consulting the two captains.
A replay was held on Monday and it ended in 0-0 stalemate at the end of regular time and after extra time.
In the shootout, the Hard Rocks beat the DM Flyers 5-4.
Wau Soccer Association president Shem Farock, who watched the grand final, congratulated Hard Rocks for winning the premiership, ending the competition on high note.
Coach Daniel Mambu commended all the players for their team work to claim their first premiership title.
Mambu dedicated the win to all the Hard Rock fans.
