Health body launches rural outreach clinics

THE Chimbu health authority launched its rural outreach clinics in Kundiawa-Gembogl recently to extend curative health services in the district.
The launching took place at Pombumeri village in Mitnande local level government council area.
Kundiawa-Gembogl health officer Wamle Yopa said: “Through this rural outreach clinics, people can access services such as eye care, dental services, antenatal care, surgical, cervical screening and general clinic and health awareness.”
Yopa said it was good to see how people respond to this Government service when Pombumeri villagers and surrounding communities came forward to access the service.
This outreach programme was funded by provincial health authority at the cost of K50,000 and aims to reach the 40,000 population in the district.
Yopa said beginning this month, officers assigned to carry out this outreach programme will start servicing the communities in the district.
And, in March, they will be stationed at health posts in Kundiawa town covering all the ward areas.
