Students provide free medical treatment in Kombio

SEPIK Adventist Students Association (Seasa) provided a week-long free medical treatment to the people of Kombio in East Sepik’s Ambunti-Dreikikier last month.
Seasa medical student team leader Serian Maniura said the village aid post was temporary closed so the students stepped in and served the community throughout their one-week convention in the province.
She said many villagers needed medical attention which saw the students work from 7.30am to 5pm.
Maniura said during their service, they saved a mother who had a complication during child birth.
The team helped deliver the baby (girl) and the mother named her after the student ministry.
Medical students team of Seasa were a combination of students from Pacific Adventist University and Boram Nursing College in East Sepik.
Apart from the medical contribution to the village, Seasa donated a 3000L tank and some sporting items to Kombot Primary School and a loud hailer to the community.
The Seasa national president and Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech) architect graduate Philan Gwandi and other Unitech students had also conducted a survey on the basic needs of people in Kombio and worked on the architectural design of the aid post and church.
Sepik Adventist Students Association’s 12th Biennial Convention was attended by over 200 students from around the country.
