COMMUNITY Health Workers Association president Dec Isaac yesterday expressed sadness over the death of Morobe provincial administration health adviser Dr Likei Theo.
She said Theo had contributed enormously to health services in Morobe and the Health Department.
Isaac said she had discussed several issues regarding community health workers with the late Theo and his deputy Michael Yawing.
“The big achievement was to absorb all 300-plus community health workers into the public service and through their mature understanding with the Morobe provincial administration, in collaboration with the Health Department and the Department of Personnel Management, it was 100% achieved,” she said.
“I salute my fellow Morobean for his great achievement while being the health adviser.”
She said most of the provincial health division staff and health workers in Morobe “will miss his service” and “he has left a legacy behind for others to follow”.
