Hear people’s cry, stop Frieda mine

Letters

I DO not understand why the Government, especially the Mining Minister Johnson Tuke is so eager to see out the proposed Frieda mine.
Isn’t PNGLNG enough to fill the country’s coffers?
Whose interest are you pushing for?
Clearly, you’re so blind-sided to the plea of the Sepik people.
For once fine-tune your ears and hear the cries of people living along the Sepik River, to save and protect it for now and generations to come.
It is their natural habitat, they depend on it for survival.
I wonder how many more new mines and oil reserves we need to exploit and deplete in order to please foreign conglomerate interests.
Can we at least save some for the future?
