Hearo gets behind sports

ELORE Lodge Ltd in Kerema, Gulf will continue to support sports in the province in 2019 and beyond.
Managing director Alex Hearo said he was committed to supporting rugby league, basketball and netball.
Hearo has plans to introduce a snooker competition in Kerema.
Hearo was proud that netball had been revived and women’s rugby league introduced last year.
“It was an exciting time for women’s competition as this has given them the freedom of choice in the community to participate,” Hearo said.
He thanked Kerema Rugby League president Manu Morehari for introducing the women’s competition.
The local businessman also revived the Kerema basketball competition in 2016 after being approached by basketball administrator Asi Aua.
Hearo has supported the afore-mentioned codes through funding and in kind.
“I do it to give the youth in Gulf show their talents,” Hearo said.
“I feel obligated to give back to the community as a business,” he said.
