High demand for vehicle parts lures in firm

THE agriculture and mining sectors have lured into the country a four-wheel-drive vehicle parts company – with the first branch opening in Port Moresby this week.
Terrain Tamer general manager Brent Hutchinson said the branch on Waigani Drive should cater for the demand for quality car parts.
“Papua New Guinea’s strong agricultural and mining industries made it an obvious site for the continued development of the brand,” Hutchinson said.
“Terrain Tamer currently supplies a range of over 40,000 spare parts developed and manufactured to Original Equipment standards or higher, to a range of customers such as mining contractors, emergency services and farmers,” he said.
He said they also catered for recreational four-wheel-drive vehicles in more than 80 countries “who depend on strong, rugged and reliable operation of their vehicles”.
He said there were custom-made parts for the tough PNG terrain.
“After almost 50 years of researching, developing and manufacturing 4WD parts, we are excited to announce the opening of our new branch in Port Moresby, being our fifth international warehouse,” he said.
“Since its beginnings in 1969 in the suburbs of Melbourne, the brand has grown to include 14 warehouses across Australia, as well as Europe, New Zealand and Fiji.”
