Higher tuition fees not fair

Letters

The increase in university tuition fees is unfair.
The blame is not with the University of Papua New Guinea administration or the parents for this is something that needs to be addressed by the authorities.
The tuition fees for 2018 is increasing to K7500, more than double what it was before.
This is really killing the parents and sponsors.
No one can really tell or predict the future at the moment.
PNG is a country where people who have no education find it hard to get a job, ending up depending on small things to survive.
The increase in tuition fees will be hardest on parents who are earning their income through agricultural activities.
By the look of things, the increase in tuition fees will probably force some parents, or most parents, to leave out some of their children who are attending primary or secondary school and concentrate on the ones who are attending UPNG.
We are facing tough times ahead.
If you are a parent, I beg you to take a stand against the increase in the tuition fees for UPNG students for next year.
