CHIMBU Governor Noah Kool says the Kundiawa General Hospital of which he is patron is for everyone and not only the people of the province.
During a fundraising dinner to build new facilities such as operation theatres, intensive care units and wards, Kool said there were 33 qualified and dedicated medical doctors offering the best medical services at the hospital.
“The dedication of our doctors and the nurses as well as the hospital staff is A1 (the best),” he said.
“You get the best treatment when you come to KGH. We have patients coming from around the country.”
He said it was like a referral hospital but the problem was it lacked operating theatres and wards.
“We are forcing the patients to sleep on the floors. We are doing what we can to upgrade the hospital but we need help.”
He said more beds and more operation theatres will be built to serve Papua New Guineans who are seeking medical assistance at KGH.
Deputy hospital chairman John Bro told corporate organisations, MPs and individuals who attended the fundraising that their support would be put to good use.
“Your money will be put to good use to build these very important infrastructures that is badly needed at the hospital,” he said.
