NATIONAL Housing Corporation managing director Tarcissius Muganaua was locked out of his office over the weekend.
Locks to his office and another office in the building were replaced and the doors chained, taking him by surprise.
Action was executed as soon as a letter of suspension from the Minister for Housing Paul Isikiel was delivered to Muganaua in hospital. He was visiting a sick friend there.
A copy of the letter obtained by The National  advised Muganaua that he was suspended from performing his duties as the managing director effective Sept 14 until further notice on grounds of allegations made against the NHC.
It was claimed that State Solicitor Daniel Rolpagrea wrote a letter to the minister on Sept 13, a day after news of blatant abuse in NHC and allegations of corruption emerged.
The letter advised the minister to suspend the managing director and members of its board to allow for an investigation into the allegations.
In another letter to the minister from the Office of the Attorney General, there were allegations of massive fraud, blatant abuse and stealing of NHC properties. It also called for the suspension of the managing director.
Some of the allegations related to the Gerehu Stage 3B-2 project initiated by the former Minister of Housing Andrew Kumbakor and his board and another project.
Muganaua, when contacted, said he was surprised that he was served some documents in hospital.
