Housing Corp gets new flag to fly for Independence

National

The country’s 43rd independence anniversary is a month from now and some organisations have started early preparations to mark the occasion.
The national flags flapping outside the National Housing Corporation headquarters at Tokarara has withered and barely recognisable.
The National Events Council finally came to the rescue yesterday with four new flags. Council director Edward Pelmann had responded to a request by the NHC managing director Kenneth Cooke who called for help a week ago.
The corporation will have various in-house activities, including a flag-raising ceremony, reciting of the national pledge and singing of the national anthem as part of the commemoration.
