Hunters defeat humiliating

THE 34-0 defeat to PNG Hunters by Burleigh Bears in last weekend’s game is a humiliation not only to the team but to the country.
It is stupid to say you are proud of the boys when they did not even score a try.
Don’t try to defend yourself.
You must be ashamed of being defeated 34-0.
It was evident that Burleigh Bears fielded several former NRL players unlike inexperienced Hunters players who the coach always feels proud to field amateurs.
You just cannot continue to have amateurs in the entire season like that.
All the teams in HostPlus Cup have their own NRL players and for Hunters, the coach will be always proud of his in-experience players leading to continuous losing spree.
The blame must solely go to Hunter’s coach on how he is selecting players to play week in week out.
From observation, the coach seems to be fit enough to drop the performing players and substitute them with inexperienced players.
Usually, you get first timers on a reserve list before moving them up to the first 13 depending on their performance, but for Church he picks inexperienced players straight into first 13 which is the result of losing. Now the coach is defending himself by saying Hunters players played against NRL players who have the upper hand.
Wait a minute here! Is this coach okay in saying this?
The HostPlus Cup is the second tier league in NRL and most of the NRL players who are dropped from their club automatically end up playing in HostPlus Cup where Hunters players are playing.
So you cannot just come up with a lump of excuses to try to defend your performance.
The PNGRFL management board must not just sit there and entertain this coach.
Since the beginning, we have urged the coach and management to consider some of the more experienced players like Garry Lo, who is an NRL material, but we really do not know what is really going on why Lo was overlooked and not selected.
Hunters are our pride and experiencing continued loss like that is terrible and unbelievable.
The supporters, fans and the entire country need some improved performance.
