Hunters must remain at Kalabond to win

THE top management’s decision to shift Hunters from Kokopo (Kalabound Oval) to Sir John Guise Stadium will not bring a desirable outcome.

The kalabound Oval has become grave yard to Hunters and none of the players in the Queensland Cup has so far won in the previous games.

When you look at last year, only few games were won and this year only one or none.

And even in the Dicigel Cup other teams who went to play in Kokopo with Rabaul Gurias have never won too.

When the Hunters and Falcons (the previous second last placed team in the Queensland Cup) opened the Pacific Game the PNG Hunters would have lost the game to Falcons but somehow they have managed to maintain their win.

The 15,000 plus home crowd was on their side when the Hunters took the field but the Hunters have made a lot of errors.

The gentleman who was on the microphone blamed the crowd and the setting up of the stadium light for repeated errors but we spectators concluded the new-look stadium have not helped them much.

And other things the management needs to consider are the climate and the environment.

The climate and environment in Kokopo is not same as in Port Moresby.

If the climate in Kokopo is more suitable and the environment is also conducive, and they are contributing factor to their repeated wins what good will Sir John Guise’ Stadium do to Hunters irrespective of the gate taking for the hour and 20 minutes.

Therefore, to maintain the winning spirit the management should decline shifting Hunters to Sir John Guise Stadium.

The remaining two to three games must be played in Kakabound Oval in Kokopo. The management must let the Hunters complete this year’s Queensland Cup in Kokopo and decide after its competition this season.

I am very interested to watch Hunters for the second time but I do not want them to lose.

I strongly disagree with the management’s decision to host last two to three matches in Port Moresby.

The Government has injected more money in Queensland Cup not to collect gate fees in overpopulated urban centers but to see achievement for the country.

Please make decision on where to play considering climates and environments, not deploying sheep where there are greener pastures.
