Hunters No.1 upbeat after home loss to Dolphins

HUNTERS fullback Sanny Wabo says last round’s loss to the Redcliffe Dolphins is already gone from their minds and the players are not dwelling on it and just focused on their next opponents who are the Burleigh Bears.
The SP Brewery-sponsored side will head to Gold Coast on Friday before they face Bears on Saturday afternoon.
Wabo said his team were still working to become a better defensive side and this would be a challenge all they could as a team and individually was to examine their weaknesses and find solutions.
“We are disappointed and it really hurt for me personally; seeing my family, friends and family who came to watch us at the NFS and to lose in front of them is never a good feeling,” Wabo said.
“But it is what it is, we just have to move on and try to get better from those disappointments.
“We just have to focus on what’s ahead and for this week, we are facing the Burleigh Bears and we have to find a way to bounce back.”
Wabo said he needed to improve his own game as well. The former Lae Tigers said he would be aiming to get more involved in the attacking plays compared to his previous games.
“I think I lack in that area, I have to be there in attack mostly and for this week that’s my goal,” Wabo said.
