PNG SP Hunters forward Anthony Worot is not new to the Hostplus Cup and he knows what to expect when he plays his first game of the season in the round 7 fixture against Burleigh Bears on Saturday.
Worot has been outstanding playing for the Rabaul Gurias in the opening two rounds of the Digicel ExxonMobil Cup this month.
The front-rower said yesterday his aim was to earn a regular spot in the side.
The match has special meaning for both sides as it is the annual Anzac clash between the to clubs.
“I’ve played a handful of games for Hunters in 2022 season so I’m not new to this level,” Worot said.
“But for me this is an opportunity to show the coach what I can offer so I’m looking forward to facing the Bears. I’ve played two games for Gurias this season and I think it helped me in terms of match fitness.
“I think the opportunity to play for Hunters again comes at the right time and I’m prepared for that. I understand we lost last week and the boys want to bounce back so there’s a lot of work to do.
“For myself, I just want to do what I have to do playing in the forwards,” he said.
