Hunter’s performance

Letters

I EXPRESS my disappointment over the miserable performance of the SP Hunters in the game with the Northern Devils.
The overall performance was very poor very similar to the previous games this year.
There are three outstanding features of the current crop of hunters that are causing confusing and inconsistency in their general performance.
Firstly, player consistence is lacking.
Half of the players with whom we started the season are no longer in the team.
Some new recruits into the team for a game or two have been dropped again for committing trivial errors.
Speedsters like Woods Kawage and Justin Yoka who displayed some striking performance were dropped on no apparent grounds.
If we had kept them I am sure, Hunters should have some more wins.
Secondly, mediocre performers namely Wawa Paul and Butler Morris are always popping up on the team list.
I have watched all hunter games since 2014 and have never seen the duo making a line break, doing a try saving tackle or scoring a try.
The team is losing because the coaching staff are retaining such players even when their performance are below par.
Thirdly, it is psychology.
When there is more than one leader in a team, leadership and decision making struggle sets in and causes eventual loss.
You have former captain Ase Boas and Adex Wera and now Moses Meninga, all playing in the same team.
In a situation like this, it is always better for the expert skipper to take the reins.
Give the captainship back to Ase Boas and let him make an input in the next team sheet and see what happens.
