DIGICEL Cup players Leon Undupie and Bob Nale will boost Ialibu Two Panthers as they take on Undeyapu in the O’Neill Cup semifinal at the Pangia Rugby League Oval on Saturday.
Co-captain Yunu James told The National yesterday that his Ialibu Two Panthers were confident that they could go all the way to the grand final.
He said the game against Uneyapu would see the winner advance to the preliminary finals of the Cup, which was sponsored by local MP Peter O’Neill.
“It has been a good competition for us and we have enjoyed it,” former Gulf Isou player James said.
“We started the season well.
“The inclusion of Mendi Muruks winger Undupie and Hela Wigman back Nale has improved the performance of our team.
“They bring a lot of experience and it’s good to see them combine well with some of the raw talents from Ialibu.
“The rest of the team are also feeding off Undupie and Nale.
“So with the way we have played all season, I believe we can go all the way and win the grand final.”
However, James said Undeyapu would be boosted by former SP Hunter David Lapua.
“Lapua is a quality centre,” he said.
“Undeyapu have benefitted from his experience, so our goal is to shut him down.
“If we can keep him quiet then it will be good for us.”
