Ihove is acting authority CEO

Copland Ihove was appointed acting chief executive of the newly-established Northern provincial health authority on Friday.
Ihove, an adviser for rural health service, was appointed for a three-month term soon after the declaration of the provincial health authority.
The declaration saw the merger of the two health systems — rural health services and Popondetta General Hospital.
“It’s quite a challenging task for me because we are merging two systems as one,” Ihove said. “I was the Popondetta General Hospital secretary when the new system came.
“I went out, heading the rural health services, and now I’m coming back.
“It’s not a new thing but a new system, so I will put my best effort into it.
“I did not expect to be appointed in this position because I was looking forward to mentor the former CEO of the hospital, Dr Gunzee Gawin, but things didn’t work out as we had expected.
“This is only an interim and if he is cleared of his case, I look forward to him coming back to take this position if things work out well.
“I’ve seen other provinces do better and achieved a lot under the PHA arrangements, and there’s lot of support and funding assistance coming.”
